Efficient Reading

Efficient reading means not only fast reading, but knowing how to adjust reading speed according to the type of passage. It is an active procedure requiring constant assessment of the validity of what is being read as well as relating it to one's existing knowledge. Through practice students are taught to increase their reading speed , with improved recall and comprehension.

Vocabulary extension	Building vocabulary, prefixes and Suffixes,Latin and Greek derivatives.
Visual Span	Reading words in groups, reducing visual fixations. Speed Reading.
Flexible reading	Previewing, skimming, studying, active reading.
Improved retention	Reading whole concepts, interrelating information , Questioning, summarising, anticipation.
